Members of the Port Townsend Pocket Yachters club enjoy using small rowing, sailing and paddling boats--primarily traditional designs that are trailerable, affordable, functional and just plain fun.


We’re centered in Jefferson County, Washington--proud home of the Northwest Maritime Center, Wooden Boat Foundation, Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding and a rich maritime history.


We’re a loose-knit group--no bylaws, commodores or membership dues--just folks who love getting out on the water together in smaller boats.

Jan. 27, 7 p.m. : Sea Tales on a Winter’s Eve features a reading of excerpts from Men Against the Sea--a harrowing tale based on the logs of Capt. William Bligh and his 41-day, 3,600-mile voyage in the Bounty’s launch with a crew of 18--read by Emiliano Marino, proprietor of The Artful Sailor in Port Townsend. The new British Columbia chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association (TSCA) is organizing a week-long series of daily races between checkpoints in the northern part of the Strait of Georgia. A mothership will provide support and three daily meals for those who opt into the full meals program; others can opt to bring their own food and cut the entry fee.
