The Small Boat Beach Rendezvous 2026 was pulled off without a hitch on August 8th on a beautifully sunny (and smoke free!) day on Blake Island. Lee writes the small blurb below:
Five Seattle Area Pocket Yachters participated in the 2026 Blake Island Rendezvous (Max in his Kayak, Tanya ad her daughter in their Mirror, Cameron and wife in the Pelican Kyle, West and Alfred i their Potter 15 and Bjorklund in; Bjoat.
Bjorklund and the Potter (now named “Gumblebum” by West, launched at Don Armeni while Tanya, Cameron and Max launched at Manchester on Bainbridge Island, a short sail from the west side of Blake. Gumblebum and crew moored at the Blake Island Marina while the anchored or camped on the West side or made it a day sail by returning to Manchester.
All in all a great couple of days with good temps, clear skies and reliable wind. Haven’t heard of any raccoon encounters yet. No near misses with ships or ferries. Bjoat didn’t windup grounded in the morning like last year. The pic of the 14-footer with five aboard taken as they were headed backk to Manchester after several beers. Note all the PFDs. Hope they made it.
